ELEGIES – II

To commemorate the hundredth anniversary of the end of the First World War, that ceased on 11-11-1918, and the two hundred and fiftieth anniversary of the South Park Street Cemetery, that opened its gates in August, 1767, an anthology of dark poetry, titled ELEGIES – II, comprising of ninety elegies, penned down by Amar Agarwala was released at the South Park Street Cemetery grounds, which also happens to be a World Heritage Sight. It was a unique event that unfolded on its hallowed precincts, never before has such an event been held at the premises – that too a literary event of such dimension.

The event was jointly hosted by both the Association for Preservation of Historical Cemeteries of India and the Christian Burial Board, in the presence of some seventy odd guests in a heart-touching ‘Elegiac Ceremony’ never ever witnessed before in this city.
